Seattle Jewish Chorale is excited to welcome you to our Chanukah concert, “Age Old Stories of Freedom,” our return to in-person music making! This concert will feature some new arrangements of Chanukah favorites, and will also showcase some Jewish music from Ukraine. The Chanukah story tells of ancient Jewish people fighting for their right to self determination, a clear parallel to modern war in Ukraine. Our audience will also hear music in Hebrew, Yiddish, and English, and arrangements from the mid-1800s to this very year.

It will be conducted by Music Director Jacob Finkle, and accompanied by Collaborative Pianist Alex Fang.

*Out of consideration for any community members who are immunocompromised, we will require all of our concert attendees to wear masks. Our singers will be performing in N-95 rated masks.*

It was an excellent performance featuring talented, well-coordinated, outstanding voices and music director. It was an uplifting occasion, and I loved being invited to sing along on some songs.
